Dear Project Management Friends,

That O.N.E Team, a high school First Robotics Competition (FRC) Team in Belmont, Michigan is looking for assistance establishing project management processes.  The team is just over two years old and has qualified both years to go to the FRC World Championship.  In their first year the team won the Rookie All Star Award for Michigan.  Last year the team won the Chairman’s Award at districts, which is First Robotic Championships highest award.  During the build season, which starts in January, each team has exactly six weeks to build their robots.

Due to the tight deadlines and not wanting to rest on the previous year’s achievements the team has recognized the need for implementing a more formal project management process.  Team mentors are using this off season to introduce the team to project management concepts.  The team is currently working on three projects that range from robotics, to fundraising, to a community garden to teach these concepts.  The team would now like to implement a Project Management Office that would help to implement project management processes and oversee training students on those processes.  The team would like some help in implementing the Project Management Office.  If this sounds like something you might be interested in or would like more information please contact Michael Gibbs.

Thank you,

Michael Gibbs (The ONE Team Mentor), MBA, CAPM
